Original HB Shoe Slap Dancers

Original Munich Hofbrauhaus Shoe Slappers and Wenches

For the past 12 years this folklore group has been a constant part of the Bavarian Evenings at the world famous Hofbrauhaus in Munich.

The lads and wenches have also been enthusiastically welcomed, with their varied program, by fans in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Japan, Spain, USA and sensationally at the 1996 "October Festival" at the Kempinski Hotel in Peking.

The ensembles program includes the following "Highlights":

Steierer Dance:
Various dance combinations performed by a minimum of two couples.
Woodcutter Dance: [Play]
This frequently requested program segment is definately not for the weak of heart. Strong lads are required here. Who else can carry a tree trunk and use an axe without dropping the lot?
Bench Dance:
Only the truly athletic can perform this dance. Who else can jump from a sitting position, with a pirouette, and return repeatedly.
Spooning:
Our boys use special wooden spoons to produce individual renditions of various lively polka rhythms.
Whip Crackers:
The stronger species is also required for the whipcracking to ensure the whipcracks really crack, during several different melodies. This is extremely strenuous on the arms.
